I’m a snacker so when I found these healthy Trader Joe’s snacks, I couldn’t wait to share them with you!
There’s something about shopping at Trader Joe’s that makes me happy. It could be the employees who are super helpful and kind or possibly the vibe when you walk in the door. Most importantly though, I feel, is the variety of different products. I always find something (or a few things) new to try each time I visit.
I’m trying to watch my waistline and am on the hunt for the quintessential snacks that will satiate my hunger and that are also healthy-ish.
My Favorite Trader Joe’s Snacks!
I can’t have just one handful of these in-shell pumpkin seeds. They have just the right amount of salt and are the perfect mid afternoon snack. Some health benefits of pumpkin seeds are:
- helps to lower blood sugar levels via magnesium
- substantial serving of zinc
- a great source of dietary fiber
- high in antioxidants
- natural source of tryptophan, which helps to improve sleep
Organic Gala Apples
Trader Joe’s bagged organic gala apples are a must-buy each time we go. The apples are super sweet and crunchy, and most importantly, the perfect size for my little guy to snack on. One gala apple is packed with:
- Vitamin C
- Less than 1g of fat
Triple Cream Brie with Wild Mushrooms
OK, this one may not necessarily be “healthy” but it is DELICIOUS. I love cheese – it is one thing I don’t think I could give up. Trader Joe’s Triple Cream Brie Cheese with Wild Mushrooms is always on my charcuterie tray when we have guests. Last week I bought one just because.
I paired it with TJ’s Original Savory Thin Crackers. You don’t want a cracker that with overtake the deliciousness of the cheese.
Gluten-Free Pretzel Twists
I try to stick with gluten-free products as much as I can. I do feel a difference when I eat a slice of pizza, bagel, or pasta that contains gluten (usually stomach issues, headache, etc.) Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Pretzel Twists are yummy – I compare in flavor to Glutino’s, but a lot less expensive!
I’ll dip these in nut butter or eat them on their own.
I am a complete product of marketing, so when I saw the name of this particular cereal bar “This Apple Walks in a Bar”, I had to check it out. I usually eat a Luna protein bar at about 10 am, but wanted some variety and this cereal bar does the trick.
It reminds me of a larger version of a fig newton bar, but yummier.
You read that right…this next snack is named Inner Peas. It has the perfect amount of crunch and salt. These vegetable crisps are made from real peas and have the perfect light flavor.
Mochi Rice Nuggets
When you first read what this snack is, you may be a bit wary to try them. I was drawn to the Mochi Rice Nuggets super cute packaging (once again a product of marketing…and the fact that they were right next to my fave Inner Peas) and had to try them. They are not sweet as notated in the description, but savory – similar to Bugles but healthier.
Fall Tortilla Chips and Salsa
Trader Joe’s is known for their samples. Last time I visited they were sampling these super cute leaf-shaped tortilla chips and Fall Harvest salsa. I had to buy them – aside from the cuteness of the tortilla chip shape, the salsa was delicious.
Trader Joe’s Fall Harvest Salsa is a combination of butternut squash, pumpkin, and apple.
